Morristown and Mt. Auburn high schools got away for the opening of the Shelby county high school net season in the new gymnasium at Mt. Auburn, Friday night, the Hanover township quintet taking the Auburn shooters by a 43-13 count.  The game was the first in the new gym at Mt. Auburn and a large crowd of fans was in attendance.
The Morristown five seemed to have a decisive edge over their opponents from the start and played a clever passing game which was too much for the Mt. Auburn tossers.  Accuracy on goal shooting was a feature of the Morristown game and fans from that town who witnessed the victory believe that the team this year will be one of the best that has ever represented Morristown high school.

The Mt. Auburn School closed on Thursday.
George A. Jordan’s school closed on last Thursday.
In addition to the normal school we will have a subscription school for the little folks which will be under the control of one of our young lady teachers.
The school at Sang Hill closed on Friday last with a big dinner, recitations by the little folks, which were excellent, and a good time generally.  The teachers,  Willard Parrish  and  Miss Ida Robertson,  have made a splendid success of the school this term.
Miss Allie Franks  remained over Sunday with us for the second time since she took charge of the primary department of our schools.  This is her last week, and we are sorry to part with her.  Miss Franks has made a host of warm friends during her brief stay among us.
The commencement exercises for this township will be held at Mt. Auburn Monday evening March 31st.  There are nine, and possibly ten graduates, viz:  from this school,  Misses Fannie Barlow,  Hattie Littler,  Ida Cowles, Emma Clarke  and  Messrs. Will Clarke and  Bent Jordan;  and from the Sang Hill school,  Misses Belle Warner  and  Belle Foreman  and  Ches Mullendore.
