then (moving right) is my great-grandfather, Elias VanGorden,
then his daughter, my grandmother Clara (Palmes) Cropper
and finally, my great-grandmother, Naomi (Dicks Palmes) VanGorden.
The building in the background is the small grocery Elias and Naomi ran.
